About us

For over ten years, we’ve been providing dog walking and pet sitting services to thousands of happy customers. We’re a family business with people and their pets at the heart of what we do.

We Love Pets management team

We Love Pets was set up by Jo White in 2007 to meet the demand for pet care for busy pet owners. Although she enjoyed her previous employment, she wanted a challenge and always fancied being her own boss.

We Love Pets started offering franchises in 2013 and haven’t looked back. We can honestly say that all of our franchisees are successful and happy, they enjoy the support they get from us and provide to each other.

We are an award-winning, British Franchising Association accredited franchise company. We’re in the top 7% of UK Franchises of hundreds of franchises in the UK (rated by Elite Franchising UK) and rated in the top 18 franchises in the UK (Start Up 2018).

 

Our support team

Our franchise support team has grown over the years and now has a great mix of skills, knowledge and qualifications. Running a dog walking business and loving dogs doesn’t qualify a franchisor to advise franchisees on how to run their dog walking franchise, so we have a variety of people with expertise in business.

Got a business question? Our Director and founder Jo has a business and law degree, and has run a WLP branch from day one.

Ryan, our other Director oversees support and has run his own successful pet food businesses over the years, as well as teaching animal care at further education level.

Marketing questions? Our marketing manager worked at Natures Menu for three years before joining the team, she knows the pet care market inside out!

One stop shop Intranet and further training: And in addition to our support team we have a comprehensive Intranet which includes resources, training guides and online courses so you can brush up on skills and take part in ongoing training.

Company Director

Jo set We Love Pets up in 2008 to meet a demand for pet care. Jo has an extensive business background and has degrees in Law, Business and Animal Science.
WLP is a family business; Jo is married to Ryan and they live in Norfolk with two young children and their family Labradors.

Managing Director

Ryan is married to Jo and runs the franchise recruitment side of the business, he also teaches part time as an Animal Care Instructor at Wiltshire College.
He loves to meet potential franchisees to answer questions and hear about their own life stories.
Laura Manley

Laura Manley

Head of Support

Laura looks after the operational side of We Love Pets. She provides an excellent support service to our franchisees and their teams.
Laura started working for WLP in 2013, first as a dog walker in Newbury and now as Head of Support. She has two labradors and two horses.
Jodie Runacres

Jodie Runacres

Accountant

Jodie is our Head Office accountant and has 3 years experience working for one of the 'big 4' (we like to think she’s still working for one of the big 4 being part of WLP!)
Jodie is a qualified chartered accountant and assists franchisees with funding applications as well as helping them to manage their accounts and maximise their profits.

Marketing Manager

Jo Ford (known as JoJo) is our Marketing Manager. She was the Marketing Manager at Natures Menu for three years – successfully launching new product ranges and re-branding.
Jo has a degree in media studies and marketing, certificate in marketing from the Chartered Institute Marketing and e-consultancy certificates in Search Engine Optimisation.
Rachael Knights

Rachael Knights

HR Manager

Rachael Knights is our HR Manager. Having previously worked for Louis Vuitton in London, and Aviva, she’s a wealth of knowledge on all things people management.
Rachael manages our policies, contracts and documents to ensure they are always up to date with best practice.
Chesley Wheeler

Chesley Wheeler

Veterinary nurse

Chelsey trained to be a vet nurse in Canada. She moved to the UK in 2014 and has worked as a vet nurse for ten years. She currently works at a vets practice in Wiltshire as well as teaching vet nurse courses.
She supports franchisees by providing training and an advice service.
Catherine Gladwyn

Catherine Gladwyn

Social media expert

Catherine has a background in media, marketing and communications. She provides social media and marketing support to WLP and their franchisees.
Catherine’s always had dogs in the family home and is currently being badgered by her daughter for a brown Cockapoo!
Nicola Walker

Solicitor

Nicola provides a legal advice service for our franchisees.
