Find out how Lorna & Jo, our Farnham franchisees, are getting on one month on.
“The support is phenomenal!”
Less than a month after officially ‘opening for business’ Lorna and Jo are still overwhelmed by the local interest and support in their dog walking, dog boarding and pet care business based in Farnham and Hook.
‘We get an enormous buzz of excitement whenever the phone rings or a new email enquiry comes in’, said Jo. ‘Part of the excitement is not only about meeting new owners, but also their pets – what will their personality be like, what will they enjoy, what can I do to make them feel safe, secure and loved when their owners are busy with life’s demands?’
Friends, Lorna and Jo were made redundant from a large corporate company in the oil & gas industry a few months ago. Both had hectic schedules, leaving less and less time for family, friends and their own pets!
‘Our previous roles were Procurement Specialists working very long days. We had enormous stress from working long hours, office politics, darker evenings in the winter walking the dogs and were always picking up colds sitting in a stuffy office environment. When we both heard the news of redundancy we knew things could be positively different.’
Being employed brings demands and insecurities, as some businesses struggle to compete in an ever changing economic climate, this is why many of We Love Pets franchise owners seek that better lifestyle of running their own business. Jo and Lorna had the same plan.
‘Lorna and I are pet first aid trained, fully insured, police checked, and have years of experience with dogs, cats and small animals. “We both love animals, the changing of the British seasons, the outdoors lifestyle and doing something rewarding.”
After extensive research and several conversations with Ryan, We Love Pets Franchise Director, we decided to invest our money into this franchise.
“The support is phenomenal, it takes the stress away from everything you need to start up a business, so you can just get on and build it. Our lives, and the lives of our customers will now improve, as we bring these services to Farnham, Hook, Alton and the surrounding villages.”
As well as dog walking, Lorna and Jo will also be offering pet sitting, a stress free alternative to kennels.
